Andy Martin , David Steinmeyer. http://www.airmenofnote.com/sounds/Note50th/Note50th.htm
A link to one of the best Trombone Jazz songs I have ever heard by David Steinmeyer. And some of the highest notes ever. You have to listen to the whole thing.

Christian Lindberg is amazing. Mike Soprano is cool just because he's good and he's in a ska band. JJ Johnson is crazy with his "goin against the grain" style. ah, they're all good

I just discovered this guy: Robin Eubanks. He plays in the Dave Holland Quintet and Big Band. This guy is a trombone beast. His sound is beautiful, and his lines are are insane.

robin eubanks is a beast, he is probably the best jazz trombonist today,

i bought a bim skala bim album "eyes and ears" about 3 months ago, but i never listened to it until yesterday. vinny noble is my absolute hero. i figure its his raspy sound quality that makes it good and very distinct from other ska trombonists.

2. Lindberg of course
3. Doug Yeo, bass bone, ultra low awesomeness

Wycliffe Gordon is amazing. I saw him sit in with a jazz duo(piano and bass) and improvise incredible stuff.
pretty sweet video not sure if its improv, but it sounds like it. I talked with him after and he is a cool guy too. Also, Glen Pine from The Slackers is a beast. I saw them once and he did this nuts solo with a mute. It was soooo good. He kicks ass in the song Shankbon.

Mike Soprano (I FREAKING LOVE STREETLIGHT), and my friend, Casey Jones. He's really good for going into his senior year of High school.. he recently placed 4th in the nation and a trombone competition promoted by the army.
