| i play it in my high school's band.. it sounds almost exactly like an alto sax except for its lower range..plus, sometimes i get bari sax or alto sax parts if there arent any of my own parts...i just cant help but wonder if an alto clarinet could be used in a ska band lol | ||

anything can be used in a ska band! i've seen everything from a french horn to a kazoo, it's not necessarily the instrument in a ska band that makes it ska (of course the horn elements and sometimes an organ helps add to the feel) but it's how the instruments are played (for example strumming upwards on a guitar is used a lot) and the rythms that are used. |

| i like playing alto clarinet and contra-alto clarinet but the thing that really sucks about playing alto clarinet in my schools band is that im shunned by soprano clarinets and alto saxes alike lol | ||
