So, I know it's not a ska forum, but a lot of us do listen to it. What are some of the most unusual places you've heard ska? Commercials, TV shows, movies, etc... Here, I'll start:

Dance Dance Revolution: SuperNOVA
On the Disney Channel
On Nickelodeon
Diddy Kong Racing (for the N64)

and my favourite,

After The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart goes to commercials for the second time.

There's a movie called Soccer Dog and the Aquabats have a song in it. Also, Shaun of the Dead features "Ghost Town" by The Specials towards the beginning.

My sister was watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch today and some weird female-vocals version of "The Impression That I Get" by the Bosstones came on. It was pretty awesome. Coincidentally I was listening to Big D and the Kids' Table's new album at the time.

I'm also DYING to find a copy of that song. I'm a sucker for rock (or ska) instrumentals, and that theme song is one of the best I've heard.

Wikipedia says the theme song is "Dog on Fire", performed by They Might be Giants. As far as I know, that wasn't released on any of their albums, so I'm desperate to find a copy of it.

It's used as the music on this youtube video:

So the song must have been released at some point. Anyone know where I can find it?

There's a song on a McDonalds commercial that has like a ska/surf/punk feel too it. Reminds me of Goldfinger, even though they aren't really surf, it just sounds like them.

I was sitting in a Chili's Restaurant the other day and the Bosstones came on. They are now included in quite a few greatest hits collections I see in stores so they are evidently much more popular in the world than they are in my area...

Other than that, I rarely here ska where I live in Illinois. I've been working to amend that!

Anyone here watch the show Teen Titans? In an episode in the first season called Detention, when Mad Mod (the most Two-tone villain EVER!), the play the song K2G by Puffy Ami Yumi, who usually aren't ska, but this song is VERY ska. It made me happy inside to see Cartoons Heroes seek down a villain with some ska in the background, 'tis awesome ^_^

Could those both have been the original Toots & the Maytals versions? Because both of those are actually Toots covers xD

You know what I havent a clue, so they actually could be. Then again I would imagine the Toots and Maytals version would be of poor sound quality, whereas these sounded like modern recordings, but hey, im probably wrong.
