| are you looking for brands or....design? ....cause...i could tell you a lot of people use a shallower mpc for jazz..i dont know sizes. the 10 1/2 C bach is pretty popular. for marching only i used a 3C cause i always have had problems blending...but..me sounding better did nothing for the rest of the bands problems. i have a bobby she jazz mouthpiece made by yamaha ...and...i can make that work all around...if i need to...usually im lazy and just use it. if im careful i can play classicaly ..decently. | ||

| Im using a couple. The newest one im getting is a Yamaha 14a4A. This one is very good for lead trumpet payers or players in a "rock" band.Basically ska band. Makes your high notes crisp and powerful | ||

| well i use the same mouthpiece i've used since the 4th grade a bach 7c. i'm a junior in high school, but it still sounds great. i use a shilke 14a 4a when i get tired in jazz...but the most important thing to know is that every mouthpiece is different...if u have big or small lips u'll need a different one | ||

| If I want a richer and fuller sound, like for classical kind of stuff, I use a Bach 5b. But for jazz and ska kind of stuff i use a 7c. For really high stuff there is a really shallow yamaha (I think) mouthpiece that lets you play really high easily, but it takes a long time to get used to it. I forget what it's called, though. | ||

for classical I use a vincent bach 1c. I also use this for jazz or when I need a really nice tone. For highnotes I use a schilke 14A4a... That's what works for me.....I really want to try a monette though....

| It all depends on what works for you, I think. Most people use a deeper cup such as a Bach 3c or something like that. For Jazz, use a shallower cup. Deeper cups tend to let you have a darker tone and shallower cups let you play higher registers easier. But once again, it all depends on you and the feel and response you get from it. | ||

| my typical mouthpiece to use is the denis wick gold plated 4E. it's got a good width (a little wider) and a good depth (a little shallower). i prefer the gold because it tends to be a little softer on the lips, IMO. | ||

3C's are deffinetly the best out there for ska and stuff like that. i play in a ska/punk band and its great for that rich, hard hitting tone. _Tom_Ford_ Second Class Citizens |
