Hello, I seem to be having problems with my range. First off, I'll give a bit of background information: I'm a freshman in highschool, and I was placed in the advanced band class. I am a bit lazy with practicing at home; during the school year I didn't bring my trumpet home often. At most it was once every two weeks. A few weeks ago my teacher told me I was gonna move to 1st part next year. Well, now that we've done the concert and summer is around the corner, I've had a lot more time to practice, and I wanted to go ahead and start preparing for next year by doing it more often. So far for about a week, I've practiced almost every day for about an hour each time. Before, I started I could hit the G above the high C on a good day. Today, I was having trouble hitting my B and C. Is this from practicing too much? I suppose I will try taking a break for a few days and see what happens. If any of you guys have any information I would LOVE it. Thank you! |

| When you practice practice in short 5 - 10 minutes sessions with a 5-10 minute break between them respectively. make sure you practice loud and soft and in every register, not just high notes. | ||

| i'd say join a marching band too. or just start working your lower back muscles. and lots of tries. changing to a smaller cup size works wonders too. | ||
