i play one for school and i hate it. My old trombone was a yamaha too but i got it in bad condition so it sucked anyway. but i know wits a high-end horn, so why do i hate it so much? its not like cars is it, where jap made ones aren't as nice as American made? is that even right? do i have any idea what im talking baout? anyway i like my blessing more than any other trombone iv ever played, which includes many yamahas. thats all

Yeah, I play the schools Yamaha, and it's not the greatest, although I'm not entirely sure if it's the quality, or if it because it's pretty old. The slide is just always kinda stiff, and if I'm playing by myself I can hear the slide move, that icky metal-on-metal sword-being-unsheathed noise >.< |

| yeah mines like that. its also huge, like, somewhere in the between of tenor and bass (ska pun there btw. anyone, anyone?) and im in the highest level band in my school as 2nd chair and my range sortof blows at it is, so it really sucks trying to hit those "high" notes... | ||

| I play a Yamaha and have never had any major problems, but its only the second horn Ive ever had so its hard to judge ( I had a Conn before and currently that horn has a colony of spiders in it) . They sold it to me without a slide lock though, that was kind of annoying but the slide lock doesn't matter much. I also noticed that the mouthpeice collects alot of gross stuff (spit, etc) more easily than other mouthpieces. I switched to a Bach mouthpiece because the mp was really gross even though i was cleaning it everyday. I find that concert and classical pieces sound better on the Yamaha than ska and jazz. | ||

| i have little experience with yamahas but im going to wager they dont spend much time on their trombones considering they are such an umbrella company. | ||

I play a King and personally I love it. My school has Yamahas, so I tend to want to take mine to school instead of having to play theirs. |
