the thing with "tokyo" is that they a lot of covers. The get songs like the theme from the "godfather" and make it into ska. they also have done "tetris", and "hit the road jack" but they sound really good. When they play it's unbelieveble....they move all over the stage. It's so cool looking at them.

You cant beat Reel Big Fish. Their cover of Phil Collins' "Another day in Paradise" should never have worked but it does !! I got into Jesse James when they supported Reel Big Fish but they have now split. 3 superb albums though, the sax solo at the end of Black Sheep Generator (Punk Soul Brothers album) is amazing ! Quite into Damn Skippy aswell although they are going through a line up change and wont be releasing anything until the new year. 8 Harp by Damn Skippy (Gloriously Shambolic EP) was the tune that got me to start learning the trumpet. |

I've gotten massively into Less Than Jake recently. They're just so good, escecially the lyrics and the trombone and the bass and the saxophone and the guitar and the drums. I'm still pretty fond of Five Iron Frenzy and other big ska bands for me are Voodoo Glow Skulls, The Aquabats, Operation Ivy, The Hippos and Catch 22. |

i love streetlight manifesto. their new album "somewhere in the between" is such a big step up for all of third wave ska.

| Absolutely agreed JazzPoliceman...on a side note your name wouldn't happen to be related to the Gordon Goodwin (and his Big Phat Band) song, would it? | ||
