As a real beginner (with a whopping 4 notes under my belt !?) I was just wondering what the easiest tune to learn is ?

All Im using at the moment are things like Hot Cross Buns, Au Claire de la Lune, God King Wenceslas etc - not exactly the ska punk anthems Im into !

Dont get me wrong, I dont want to run before I can walk and Ive got many hours of practise to go but was wondering if there was something a little more up to date and well known anyone could recommend ?

Cheers

Easy songs to play if you can get hold of them:

Reel Big Fish - Snoop Doggy Dog
Reel Big Fish - Ban The Tube Top
Less Than Jake - Gainesville Rock City
Mad Caddies - The Gentlemen

Just off the top of my head as being fairly simple and short.

Lol, I beg to differ. If you can find a song more well than hot cross buns, I'd like to hear it (of course, I probably already know it in that case). I do know where you're coming from though, and I definitely agree with Beer, there are 3 notes in that song, the horns only play during the chorus, and the trumpet has shots on 2+, and 3+ that go, GG, F#F#, EE, EE, GG, F#F#, EEE(one extra held note on 4+, the second time through maybe you want to change it to and A, because that works too. Another song that's a little more difficult (in case you surpass Beer) is Mr. Smiley by Mustard Plug, very simple main horn line, scale run down missing the 2 and a simple turn around after. There are back up parts you can learn too, also very simple, mostly repeated notes. Pizza Day by the Aquabats too, very simple and catchy horn line, good for getting your mouth position too, the line starts out CBC G, so it will help you with your jumps.
