Some really good ones for general improvement are:

The longtone exercises on the first couple pages.
The chromatic scales on page 77
The interval exercises on page 125

Arbans also has great articulation studies.
Single tounging pages 23-36
Double tounging pages 175-187
Triple tounging pages 155-174

It also has an amazing flexibilities section.

In other words, just for it's plain said, Arban's is an excellent method book. It takes you from beginner to some really complex stuff, so it's a great book to use as practice material along with stamina strengthening etcetera. It's definately something to buy. It's big too, you can't miss Arban's.

honestly, if you're serious about trumpet, or at least wanna learn to play, just playing through an arbans isn't going to get you where you wanna be. if you really want to get all you can out of it (its an excellent resource, by the way), take private lessons and get your teacher to take you through it, otherwise you might end up just practicing your bad habits and reinforcing them.
