i am a freshman in highschool and i want to gain more range and endurance i have been playing since elementary school but played baritone though half of middle school i just recently got my braces off so it feels different |

wow cool ok well im the same age. and this what i do and it works pretty well. start on a G on the staff then do a chromatic run to the G and octave higher and hold the note until u cant support the note. then do the same thing again. but to make ur lips stronger dont take the mouthpiece of your lips, breathe through ur nose and do this with what ever scale u want to do and keep going higher and higher. good luck man |

I am also a freshman trumpet player who played baritone in middle school. My techniques include practice and just playing a tough, high piece until you master it and move up two or three notes. Marching band helps because you learn endurance and toughness.
