I kinda like the short trumpet solo in Catch 22's Riding The Fourth Wave.

Apart from ska however, I'd say one of the most impressive songs (featuring just a trumpet plus background band, so I guess it would be considered solo) is Arturo Sandoval's Danzon. Man, I don't even know what note that is he hits at the end...

Yeah, it is pretty awexome. All the new solos are just as good as the classic ones I think. But actually I think it's James Egan playing, not the black guy Delano.

Yup.

I actually like the sound of the trumpet playing on the old Catch 22 Keasbey Nights. But then again, I'm still listening to the leaked bootleg copy of Streetlight's KN, so hopefully when I buy the actual CD, listening at a much better quality will improve the album's sound altogether.

Awexome, there's also a sweet trumpet solo/interlude at the beginning of Hotel California by The Eagles on their Farewell I Tour DVD. It was nice.

(I know somone is gonna give me crap for this)

Id just like to say that the sax solo in Streetlight's new version of This One Goes Out to... is really good. and also The Bone solo in Riding the forth wave by Streetlight. Yes i know these arent trumpet solo.

I also like the trumpet in the Aquabats song "Powdered Milk Man". Its short but i love it. Also any solos by Mad Caddies are usually pretty amazing cause they have an amazing trumpet player.
