Heyo guys... I saw on MF.com a "SuperBone", a combination valve/slide trombone. It seems interesting to me because I am also a tuba player, so the valves aren't too different and I know regular slide tenor t-bone. Anyone have or knwo of this instrument? Comments? |

| The SuperBone wasn't invented by Maynard, but he's the guy that made it popular. You're gonna have to learn to multitask with the valves and slide but yeah. I hear that it's heavy because of the valves and i think it's a small bore trombone, maybe like a .480"? Also you can't switch the valves to be on the right hand because the way you have to set it up, unlike a regular slide trombone where you can use the slide on either hand. | ||

| Love the Song Superbone Meets the Badman. My Jazz band plays it. Yours Truely is the one that has to play it. Should be interesting to learn. | ||

I played a Superbone many years ago before and one of my trumpeters has one but he hasn't broekn it out yet. I bought a new Kanstul valve bone with a shortened front slide so it looks sorta' like a bass trumpet from hell with a bone bell. Plays really well - love the Kanstul valve block. I play it in my 9 piece band, the Pleasure Point Brass Band. |
