On horntabs.net, we should have other horns besides trombone, trumpet, and sax...like my band has trombone, trumpet, bassoon, and tuba...there should be an other link when submitting tabs and you can type in what other horn you are submitting a tab for. thatd make the site alot better...

Well I would think that would involve not only tabbing songs for relatively obscure instruments but also having to set up another large chunk of the website which would kill the bandwidth even more. I think this is by far the best for trumpet tabs (which is what the site was constructed for) and that its great that its expanded into trombone and sax. If every instrument is hosted on this one site itll end up being a jack of all trades and master of none. Why dont you, (or ur mates who play the other instruments) set up an independent site and I wouldve thought sander would gladly link across to it.

Cant expect him to do everything. . . . he aint santa

Disagree. If you add those 'horns' you'd ruin the niche that this site prospers in. It'd just be another empty section of the site.

itd be great in an ideal world, but does this site need an expansive tuba bassoon harmonica etc area? if a company expands to fast and into relative obscurity compared to the ethos it promotes, it can dwindle and fall apart upon itself. so let's say it might be too much. but it'd be great if people took the initiative like sander and make a site for whichever instrument...

but then again "horntabs.net" means just that... horn tabs... meaning all horns... how bout consolidating the bari sax tabs page into a misc. category... i mean, it's not like they're used that much, and with the extra tabs under that category, it might be worth keeping that page... the tabs themselves could have the instrument in the title or in the tab info section at the top of the tab...
just a suggestion

you can select it when you're submitting tabs for another horn than trumpet, trombone or sax..

nobody submitted tabs for something like tuba, sousaphone, clarinet or whatever yet, so it's not visible in the tabs list.

Alternatively, you could submit Tuba, Bassoon, and pretty much any other bass clef reading horn into the Trombone section (CLEARLY LABELLED so not to turn our Trombone section into a mess of other instruments, leaving the poor Trombones to search through their own section to find tabs that they need). This way if anyone actually posts a song for Tuba (forgive my ignorance I don't know of many bands that actually do, I've seen Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra use one, but that's it) and a band wants to cover it, the Trombone player (who would probably cover the Tuba part keeping in mind most ska bands don't have a Tuba) could find the tablature in their own section, and of course, any Tuba/Bassoon/Baritone/Euphonium/other low instrument players could (instead of waiting for catch 22 to adopt a bassoon player) just cover the Trombone part, the tabs would be the same for all these bass instruments. Also, clarinet could work with Trumpet or T sax tabs, the only that would need adding is a treble Concert Pitched section (and an F section if there are any French horns out there, but anyone that plays French horn is probably a transposition wiz anyway) for things like Flute, Harmonica, or Oboe, if they ever come up.

We're not going to spoil the trumpet / trombone or sax sections with tabs for other instruments.. Just select 'Other horns' when submitting tabs for instruments like tuba, clarinet or whatever
