Streetlight Manifesto is by far my favorite ska band. A close second is old Catch 22. Tomas Kalnoky is what makes it for both. The music is extremely well written (musically and lyrically) in my opinion. And, yes, I think a lot of people would agree that they could easily be the best ska band ever. Their next album, "Keasbey Nights Volume 2" is scheduled for release on January 20, 2006, but some say that it will be out earlier (hopefully). There are rumors that it will simply be a remake of Catch 22's songs on "Keasbey Nights." This would be somewhat interesting, but it would also be disappointing, so I hope that they're not simply gonna redo it. (Redone souped up versions of one or two songs would be awexome though!) This is simply what I've gathered from many sites on the web. Some information and cool stuff can be found on this fan site: http://smf.po.gs/ I hope their being robbed does not affect the production of the album greatly... I feel for them. Piece-of-crap theives...

Why would it be disappointing Severfire? I think it would be skawesome if that album was purely remakes of the old catch22. After they make that album chances are I'll probably not refer to old catch22 as one of my favorite bands because Streetlight will make that album A bajillionkillionmillionfahfillion times better |

| I definately like Streetlight more than Catch 22 just because they use their horns better and have better instrumention [also known as I like tha Bari Sax alot]. I like the use of other traditional european songs in the music. But in the end, they are not my favorite just pretty okay. | ||

Besides, I'm pretty sure the album won't be purely remakes since SM has been giving teases of new songs at recent concerts. Clips can be heard from that fan site I posted a link to a few posts up. I'm actually hoping for at least of a couple of remakes though. That'd be... well, Skawexome! (<-- A little twist on your word)

If they did a full cover of Keasby Nights, it would be amazing because there would be a gigantic change. I love Hey Sergio and Here's to life by BOTAR. I think that is Tomas' best band and by far my favorite. I am starting to like Streetlight more because I have been listening to them alot and my favorite song is definately If and When we rise again. |
