Well my band has just been started up, and we are slowly writing our own stuff.. we have put music to 1 complete song, and have a couple more on the way. we have thought about some covers, and right now are peicing together the Ninja Turtle theme. other songs we are thinking of covering are..

Less Than Jake - My Very Own Flag
Reel Big Fish - Brown Eyed Girl
The Specials - A message to you Rudy

i know brown eyed girl has been done about a 1000 times, but its a good song.

so let me know what you think.. and even if there are any more fun covers we have forgotten.
Thanks!

keep on skankin --

My band is going really good and we have already written our own song over only two practices. We are looking to do a few covers just to get us going and to shows sooner. We are planing to play Keasby Nights because Catch 22 is popular around here and if we play it right it will give a good start and plus the other main ska band cannot play it beacuse their horns are crap and we need to establish that fact. We are also going to play super orgy porno party because it's a pretty sweet song and I love playing it (I play tenor sax so I have all the solos]. The last song we are going to play is the inspector Gadget Theme. It will be amazing because we will use all 5 of our horns. I say that because our trumpet player plays bass but we can cover low parts with our Bari in order to have sweet trumpet pats that are already in it. Just so you know our horn section, we have a Bari, Tenor and Alto Sax, a Trombone and a Trumpet[When it is possible to cut the bass, so only really horny songs because he is an amazing bass player] The covers should be fun. I am really happy with my band currently.

My band is very yong, about 1 week haha but we are already covering checklist by Big D and the kids table, arm to arm by catch 22 and lamont's lament by catch 22....
we're looking out for a moment of violence by streetlight manifesto and what goes around comes around by catch 22.....also planning to write some too, but hey...we've only played once haha!

hmm... i wouldn't reel big fish's brown eyed girl. that would be a cover of a cover because it is originally by van morrison. i dunno if you've ever heard of him, but he's pretty rockin'.

if you're gonna cover brown eyed girl listen to van morrison's version of it and make it sound different from the way Reel big fish did it.
