So heres the deal: Put two dimes in each of your bottom valve caps, and it works just like a weighted valvecap to darken your tone that extra little bit. Sure, your caps wont go on all the way, but the tone improvement is worth it. -Drew |

| What do the dimes improve? I've heard that weighted caps don't really do much. | ||

| i hear of some horrible accidents where the dimes got in the pistons and ruined the valves. Personally i wouldn't do this. | ||

| The dimes dont fit in to the valve they just rest in between the edge of the valve and the cap | ||

This is the premise for the Bach MegaTone mouthpieces if you've seen them. They just add weight, and create a nice, dark tone. |

| Yeah, most ska band trumpeters have a bright tone. But this isn't always good if you ever want to play anything else besides ska. | ||

I state that this topic is no help to anyone living outside of the USA. Someone is going to have to come up with a coin size converter machine thingy to make this world wide!

Would it work to put them at the bottoms? Where the caps on the bottom screw off? Or is that what you're talking about? I'm confused....
