has LTJ really dropped the horns. i thought they still had a sax and trombone. if they did drop the horns, i'm pissed. this might be an off-topic rant but seriously, LTJ rode the curtails of mainstream ska in the mid 90s and then drops the horns and every last bit of ska influence after they made a name for themselves in the ska and punk communities.

the guys that put that sticker on KN is a tool, because he associates LTJ and RBF(who might become good again because of the record label change) with actual 3rd wave ska like streetlight manifesto

I don't like to classify ska into waves. To me, it gives people reasons to judge each band. They see that someone considers a band "third wave" and they automatically refuse to listen to it because they may be into the older "first wave" stuff. Some of the newer bands may have a lot of things that the "first wave" kid might like. Regardless of what "wave" the band is in, they still have influences from the other "waves" that could indefinitely be appealing to both parts of the spectrum.

Don't get me wrong, there are definite changes in the way ska has been portrayed, but labelling like that only makes people choose which kind to listen to. People should broaden their horizons and be a little more open minded in what they listen to. Each band has a different style to them. That's what makes them unique. They shouldn't be thrown into a group with other bands that have some slight resemblance to them. I just find that catagorising music like that should be put to an end.

Just my little thought.

Less Than Jake and Reel Big Fish do not sound anything like Streetlight. I do agree with that.

On a side note, I just realised after looking through the booklet of the new CD that JAIME EGAN IS BACK! or at least for the album!

I hope he tours with them from now on (no disrespect to Delano, but I never met Jaime).

I hear what you're saying skaman. Maybe with the emergence of Fourth wave (which people say will take a more back-to-roots/Jamaican feel), people will discover and come around to first and second waves, and grow to like all forms.
