The three things people lie about in life:

Their golf scores

Fishing

Their trumpet playing.

20 on 18 holes? Don't be ridiculous.

Back on the topic of this thread, I can play a dodeca-septuple high F

The note does count if you can only get it from blasting, squeeking and pushing the trumpet crazily hard against your chops.
I can get to the high E (open valve) doing low G extensions (going from the Low G all the way up as high as you can go in a single breath and without changing your embesure) on a good day. On a normal day, high C/D.

i usually dont try to play HIGH notes. i can but i dont try. u usaully play 1,3,5,8 scale on Bb. Then an octave higher. 8,10,12,15 (all open) 15 being C above staff. But just now i got my trumpet out and played 19 (2nd G above scale)

This is horseshit. Everybody stop fucking lying.

I blew out my chops a couple months ago. My range is down to a high C (2 ledger lines) from an F. But as I'm rebuiling, I'm building a more solid foundation, much better endurance, and a great sound.

Marty, your story sucks pretty bad. You say that its because you played loud too much?...
That really sucks, but you never know if this could be a good thing to increase your endurance and whatnot (like you said). The C that you were decreased to, the D above that is the highest note I can play with a clean tone, so its not like a horrible calamity. From what it seems, youre a pretty good player, so I'm sure it won't take you long to rehabilitate, I wish your chops well.

Devil's Advocate here:

Wayne Bergeron had a Double C in grade 7.

Don't know who he is? Check him out. He plays lead for almost every movie. Check out The Incredibles. He goes ballistic there.

My range is from a low f# (fingerings 123) and the highest note I can hit is the (not exactly sure what it's called), is the "G" above the "C," above the staff (so the G above the G).
But I have heard this one trumpet player rip out, I think even higher notes...he was like a trumpet god.

Im 16 and I can hit a D above staff.. but thats mainly because Im in the jazz band marching band concert band pep band.. all them we have to play pretty high wild notes.. with the acception of concert band thats nuthin.. but im pretty much forced to practice very high notes.. I could see a 15 year old hitting high. If you practice enough its possible... and when i say hit i mean actually play the note not blow as hard as u can and somehow accidentally get a squeak out that happened to be a triple c.

Wow... you guys make me feel stupid. The highest that I have ever played was the E above the staff. Usually I can only get up to the B above the staff with good tone.

Just because you may not be as dedicated to trumpet as the rest of us does not give you the right to critisize our hard work and effort. I worked hard to hit that note, and think that I deserve a little more respect than I am recieving for it. I think a 35 year old who has been playing for 23 years can hit notes that you can't.

Work hard? I've had to go through two embouchure changes within twp years to get it right. I've been doing long tones, flexibilities, range exercises, and all that stuff for a long time. Hours a day. I'm starting to get my F's back. It's hard work, but it pays off not only with range.

But trust me, this is the internet. You all may be telling the truth, but it's highly unlikely.

Aruging On the internet is like running in the special Olympics

Even if you win.... Your still retarded..

What does it matter if kids lie or tell the truth about how high they can play if they say its an amazingly high note congratulate them and if there lying they will be filled with joy from a fallacy which in my opinion makes them an even lower person. But if they were telling the truth they will just appreciate the things you have said.
