| Well, for the first time, I decided to watch myself play on a mirror. I noticed that I was playing my trumpet on the very right side of my mouth. I have never noticed this, because I am blind in my left eye, and it looked centered to me. Anyone have any tips on how to get me playing in the middle again? Because this has begun to be a habit. | ||

It might not necessarily be a problem. I put the trumpet on the right side of the middle too and my teacher says it's fine. All that matters is if it's comfortable. I've seen some guys with the weirdest settings and they play great. |

| I've always played on the right side of my mouth. I think I first discovered this when my band teacher told me it during class one day back in Junior high. I've tried practicing with it directly in the middle, but I pretty much can't play at all, so I just keep playing to the right. It hasn't really caused any problems for me, although I think i must occasionally spray saliva from my left side since there's a bunch of little droplet stains on my pipe bending to the bell sometimes. | ||

Marty, what embrouchure (sp?) do you use? You've been coming to this site for a while now, and you know your shit. Just curious. |
