What do YOU do on stage when your horn part is over? do you just generally skank around the stage, sing along, run into the audience or what?

Spin the horn man. It's the way to go sometimes. Gives awesome points when you're in BOB sometimes too. It almost won it for us. Other than that, skank around. I love doing that, it gets people pumped and it makes the whole environment so much more fun to be in.

Me and my buddies put a little Catch 22 cover band together for a concert at school. We didn't have a singer because a lot of people know there songs, so they would chant along with us.

I got so into it that I became lead trumpet player and lead vocalist. I went so crazy that the audience dug the energy and a big pit opened up.

Just jump, throw some kicks in, go into the crowd and sing with them. A lot of audience participation will get the energy up quick times.

When I was playing for a band, we played this song with very few horn parts. So in between the horn parts, I actually had some time to skank with the crowd. Fun stuff.

Ha thanks for suggestions one and all, we had a show the other night which was fun i did just go into the audience during some covers and played 'air guitar' on the saxophone, then helped the band attacked some kid who stole our mic and was shouting down it Happy times

*sigh* At the Streetlight Manifesto concert my freinds went to, they witnessed one of the sax players skanking with the bari sax. How amazing is that??

Not amazing at all, swim lil? I've seen countless bari players rock out just as hard as anyone else. The bari in my band does, that's for sure.

I was at a concert last night of a bunch of local bands, and one of the bands had a girl playing bari, and she skanked like crazy. The lead vocals were 2 girls, and they both jumped into the crowed and danced too.

this isnt while im not playing but still relevant.
try a call and return horn solo
one instrument plays one riff and the other replies
then get a wireless mic(not required in a small venue)
send one horn into the crowd stealthy like and do a call and return
it can win a BOB or just get the crowd mega pumped
