Wyntom Marsalis' trumpet and mouthpiece are 100% custom made by Monette Horns, located in New Jersey I believe. The mouthpiece is made for a perfect feel for himself, as well as to fit his horn and/or style of playing. They cost around $13,000 USD. http://www.monette.net/newsite/index.htm |

| Yup, Wynton's stuff is made by Monette, located in Portland, Oregon. Like thechris said, the horns range from about $5000 to $15000 for a "regular model" and up to about $50000 for the custom ones! The mouthpiece Wynton uses is the Monette B2 Prana, for $315. Ridiculously nice gear. | ||

*This is for all the beginner trumpet players out there reading this thread* Do Not go out and buy a 15 thousand dollar custom made trumpet. It will not make u sound like these guys. But Practice will |

marty wrote:A trumpet is a trumpet. Forget about the bullshit and play. True, but a cheap $100 beginner horn that is 20 years old and has little holes in it won't play the same as a pro horn that's well taken care of, for example. |
