Trumpet. Just has a nicer sound. Although to be honest, I haven't heard a cornet in yonks. Thumbs up on the pirates choice. Trumpeteer, I wouldn't jump so eagerly to that conclusion. It seems to me that lots of people hail Keasby Nights as like, the greatest ska record of all time, but...I mean yeah, it's good...but I don't know about that. In my opinion Catch 22 have had some brilliant work after KN. Songs like Wine Stained Lips, Chin up, and definitely Alone in a Crowd (the album) were a step forward from KN. If I were to answer that question, I'd say that Tomas was their best singer, but as a band their collective work after Keasby Nights has been at least on par with their debut. Red team or blue team? -Faulk

faulk, people hail catch 22's keasby nights as great - but the hail streetlgiht's keasby as the greatest. if you look at catch 22's discography after keasby nights its not anything comparable to somewhere in the between and everything goes numb: * Alone in a Crowd (2000) - had some pretty good songs but overall it sounds like a weak version of SM * Washed Up and Through the Ringer (2001)- this was the biggest disapointment of a cd ive ever bought, i had to turn it off when they got to they bonus track of keasby songs and american pie was really annoying * Dinosaur Sounds (2003)- this was an okay cd, they realised that they cant sound like streetlgiht so that they strayed away from the complicated horn lines and fast singing, but again i wouldnt even begin to compare this with anything streetlgiht produced * Permanent Revolution (2006)- this was pretty much a total bust, if you were expecting ska you were to be disapointed, it has a couple of good songs but nothing out of this world. so theres no way that their stuff after keasby was equal to being as good as keasby - and even keasby isnt as good as it could be (as we see with SMs cover) that is why i said what i did. |

Trumpeteer, I still disagree with you, but I realise that if I told you why, it would just come down to a diference of opinion. And I've got a feeling that more people would share your opinion than mine. Uh, high school! Christmas party or New Year's party? |

If I was buying I'd say Strad because I already play a Yamaha and rather than just upgrading, I'd wanna try a completely different horn. Back to bands: Common Rider or Rancid? |

gotta say rancid. i've got some questions for the person who said high school over college. i gotta admit that college is awesome. i get to practice so much more than i did in high school ...and my high school sucked for pro music. i'm getting so much better and more awesome. high school always seemed so uptight and none of the teachers cared. but...well...music teachers are tight .....other teachers you gotta look out on ratemyprofessor.com lol. ok question cases: pro tec or reunion blues? |

Trombone. No question. Sure, Trumpets are more popular, and even argued as 'better', and don't get me wrong, I do love trumpets. But trombones are the icing on the brass cake. They can just be so powerful, but so melodic at times to. And they can glissando. Sour Patch Kids or Fuzzy Peaches? |
