I like the laid back feel - different, in a good way. The song could use some polishing, sure, but it's good. It's also nice to see a band that isn't all covers. Originals are a lot better than covers anyday. :]

and in the second song...it has a good direction, and the trumpet sounds good. The trombone needs to be more confident, blow more air, and that will help get a better, cleaner sound. Sounds weird, but trust me - I used to have the same problem (I'm told I don't have it anymore :o).

Hit up my band, The Gadgets. http://www.smalltownska.com or http://www.myspace.com/smalltownska

thanks man...yeah...i know, i get sick of going to small ska shows and hearing covers of ska songs. oh....about the trombone. ....yeah. that was my fault. im not the best when it comes to the bone. and...i dunno. i think i was kinda making it up as i went along. so....we kinda recorded it like...5 times and took the best one. i wish i could be in a band though....ive got other great ideas....but....without a band...its kinda just stuff i play on guitar...or..trumpet.

my band's 1st/only show to date, most of our horn parts weren't actually written for the originals... so we improved all of it... but the problem i find with that is... if all you ever do is improv with no set riffs for recording, then your fan base will be expecting to hear the riffs you played on the demo, and since it was improv, you won't be able to play it the same way twice... i mean, it's taking us this long to get around to it... but we finally are writing horn parts for songs that need them...

what does anyone think about covering a horn part for an original song? i know that bands cover multiple lyrics while having an original song... and i kinda took that idea and used it for horns

i suppose that could possibly work....but it depends what horn part you mean. Obviously you couldnt cover songs such as Sell Out or Gainesville Rock City or any other popular tune...

we already cover sell out...
but in another song, i didn't feel like writing a horn part, so i used the main part for riding the fourth wave
