What bands or artists do you like to play along to if you like to do it at all? I saw this in the trombone forum and I thought I'd bring it over. I like to play to the Mad Caddies and Streetlight Manifesto. Sometimes RBF if I want to play something relatively easy. What about you guys? |

| I don't play along to bands, like at the same time I'm listening to the music or anything, but things I like covering are Mad Caddies as well and a lot of old Catch 22. Also some cool Streetlight parts, but most of the hornlines aren't as melodic. | ||

I will skank along to RBF and Catch22. It is great for the ear. I do a lot of other stuff too. I try to emulate Dizzy a lot, at least his style. If it's got a horn line or horn and I've got my trumpet I will try and pick out the song. |

| Many years ago I used to transcribe and play guitar solos: Jimi Hendrix; Jimmy Page; Eric Clapton. But I would also play along with other trumpeters such as Maynard Ferguson. | ||

Lol funny how nobody mentioned The Aquabats. They have really easy trumpet parts for beginners, and are really fun to play. I also 'play along' to Five Iron Frenzy and Mad Caddies. |

| I've found quite a bit on this website to play along to. I like the Aquabats, Five Iron Frenzy, RBF, Mad Caddies, Catch 22, MU330, Mustard Plug, The Planet Smashers, and many others! I like playing along with ska. in my opinion it's the music that is most fun. | ||

Well for me ......i play along with many different bands and trumpet players. For ska i like to play along with tokyo ska paradise ,and streetlight. For trumpet players i like both dizzy, and arturo sandoval. Playing along arturo is insane. He hits so many high notes that it took me two years of nonstop practice to hit them myself. At the end its all worth it. B)

| I agree Johan, Aquabats are very good for beginnners or someone who feels like playin some easier stuff. My guitarist and I will put on songs we like and learn/play along to them for fun sometimes. It really is a fun thing to do and GREAT for the ears. We normally do RBF, but we've done a lot of streetlight, Aquabats, Catch 22, Big D, Mustard Plugand Cherry Poppin's Daddies, I'm sure there are more, but there are some bands to try. I really do recommend just opening up your playlist and trying to play along to whatever song comes up (you can skip to songs with horns, or try to play melodies like some people mentioned above), especially with a few friends, it's lots of fun, and your ska repertoire (I guess I'll use that word) will grow very quickly, since it will only take you about 3 minutes to learn a 3 minute song. | ||

| I like to play some Streetlight and Ctach 22 songs. I mainly play classical, I search the sheet music or scor, play the YouTube video (or my song on iTunes) and try to keep on the same time as the performer =) | ||
