Hey guys, As you may or may not know by now, Maynard Ferguson has passed away. A sad time for the trumpeting world. One of the greatest trumpeters in history he leaves a huge hole in the world of powerful trumpet playing.

.....

That's sad. Just as I was starting to discover his music too. In fact, I reckon I was probably typing his name into the 'Create a New Station' box on Pandora the day he died.

I haven't heard much of his music but the few songs that I have listened to...are legendary.

RIP Mate

He played at my high school last year. We (the jazz band) got to play "Gonna Fly Now" with him and his backup band. Amazing guy. Amazing player. Hit notes that would make any normal player's balls explodes like they were nothing.

RIP
