For the people who want to know them, here are some technical details about the site. The Site The site is based on the Catalyst Framework (currently running as a FastCGI server), and all data is stored in a PostgreSQL database. The old site used "plain" CGI and no proper framework, and had to make a new database connection for every page: this was the major slowdown of the entire server. Also, the database queries that Catalyst generates are usually a bit more efficient than some of the queries in the old code
