| Nothing really sounds the same as blues, but a lot of jazz and some ska has blues influences, if you listen for it. | ||

| Even if you're not into "roots" blues (i.e. Muddy Waters or B.B. King) there are tons of ways to at least like the all powerful Blues progression (I-I-I-I-IV-IV-I-I-V-IV-I-I, I'm sure that means something to at least a few of you). Try some Blues Brothers, they have tons of horn stuff in their songs. Some of you might be familiar with Peter Gunn (even if you think you're not, go listen to it, you'll probably recognize it to some degree) and my advice would be listen to Sweet Home Chicago, it's like 8min long, but it's got a solid horn line, and awesome solos by Guitar, Bari sax, Trombone, Alto sax, and Piano. Also, Rock and Roll has some awesome horns in it, and is almost entirely based on a Blues Progression. Given it's mostly just sax, but hey, it doesn't mean you can't enjoy it, maybe even start a new wave with brass (that would be interesting to say the least). Also, Key changes can happen in blues too, for example, in the Cherry Poppin' Daddies' version of Jump Jive an' Wail starts in Bb Concert and modulates up to B Concert just before he sings "Jack and Jill..." | ||
