I have always LOVED how a trumpet sounds when it has a good tone, but is playing softly....But I have alot of trouble doing this.

I play with an ok tone, but when I get softer, my air has to get lower so that I can play softer, bt with my decreased air then I cannot play the notes clearly.
I belive that my method of dynamic changing is weong, os could one of you tell me how to properly change dynamics? Or am I just missing something?

Thank you,

I suppose it just comes with experience and development of tone through practice. But make sure you have full support of your air, whether you're playing pianossimo or fortissimo. Meaning that your air should be stored in your lungs and pushed out with complete control using your diaphragm, and not by just using your mouth. Good luck, and hope that helped a little.
